Pre-preparatory Department

Kindergarten 1 & 2, Reception

Children are admitted during the term in which their third birthday falls. The school has open days in October and March each year and parents may also contact the Head teacher's Secretary to arrange individual appointments to visit the school. If parents wish to apply for a place, they should then register their child. An appointment will be made for parents to attend a selection interview with their child during November or April. All registered candidates are interviewed and offers are made to successful applicants in the February or May preceding the year of entry. Interviews may be held at other times at the Head teacher's discretion.

Children joining the Pre-Preparatory Department in Kindergarten will be able to attend for two, three or five days per week. Children will complete, three, two or one terms before attending five days the following September. Reception class follows one year later. The school follows the Government's under 5's Early Years Foundation Stage profile where children work towards the  goals for Personal, Social and Emotional Development, Language and Literacy, Mathematical Development, Knowledge and understanding of the World, Creative and Physical Development. Our educational philosophy combines the best of Montessori education and modern facilities. It is based on a sensible balance between freedom and structure specifically designed for the young child. It gives your child a strong basis, during his/her most formative years for developing into a well-rounded responsible, happy and fulfilled adult. He/she will develop at his/her own pace, using his/her own abilities, discovering the world through play-based, first-hand experiences and multi-sensory learning. We aim to create a caring environment where each child can reach his/her full potential and to foster a love of learning that will stay throughout his/her formal years of schooling. The children also receive French and swimming tuition from the age of 3
