At Oakfields Montessori our Key Stages take children from the age of 3 years old, all the way through to 11. The youngest children here attend our Kindergarten (Nursery), where learning is play-based and focusses on three core development areas; Communication and Language, Personal, Social and Emotional Development and Physical Development.
Next step on the Oakfields Montessori journey is our Reception. The curriculum in Reception is more structured than in Kindergarten. However, there is still a real emphasis on enjoyment with students being given ample opportunity to express themselves. Reception see’s pupils introduced to new subjects such as Music, ICT, P.E and French.
Our Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 classes begin to build an excellent educational foundation for pupils. Learning is far more structured, and once children reach Key Stage 1, the curriculum becomes even broader with topics such as Geography becoming a regular part of their educational week.
If you’d like to understand more about our Key Stage structure or curriculum, then request a prospectus from our admissions team today. Alternatively, you can book to visit us, and we’ll be happy to answer any questions you have.
We provide a safe and stimulating environment, so our children grow to be independent, curious and discover that learning can be fun.
